If you are using the
If you are using the Collapsiblock module to make your blocks collapsible, it is easy to set which ones are collapsible by default and those on click.
/admin/build/block - once there, the first customization option is "Block collapse behavior", With you can use to set that.
If you are using the Blockbar module for collapsing... I personally failed to configure it, because it's more complicated and... my support request, weeks on has not been responded to,. So I gave up on it, though I'd have preferred it.
Those are the 2 options I am aware of for collapsing blocks.
This of course presupposes you already have the menu items, using the menu module.
I hope it at least contributes to the solution ....
Thnx ya..U have been really helpful
I tried the collapsiblock and was successful to do that. But it works well only on Mozilla while IE has issues.I need to refresh the page and then only 50 percent of the times the collapsiblock comes up..Any ideas???
I personally have the
I personally have the collapsiblock working well in all the browsers I use it in at one time or other, IE 6, IE 7, FF, Opera 9 & a few other Linux browsers.
The only problem I have with collapsiblock is assuming u open block A & click on link x in it, & probably a sub link of it ... the page reloads & the block closes again. So if u want to continue using links in block A, u have to reopen it.
A few weeks ago, I read a support request to the module maker to include the ability for collapsiblock to "remember" to stay open until it is closed by the user. The developer said he'll find a way to do that, may be using cookies or some other means, in the next release. http://drupal.org/node/108540
I otherwise would not know why it sometimes opens & sometimes not, though I must say, when a page is loading, it starts with the blocks open until it is fully loaded.- That's is when those set to be closed by default close. So if the page takes loooooooong to load, they may appear to stay open....
May be someone else can help you further.
I realize this post is old,
Anyone interested in learning how to do (W/O using a module) collapsible blocks with cookies to remember their state, I've posted a tutorial on the subject using D6:
